WOYWW 607 - Kit in a Bag

Happy WOYWW to you all (What is On Your Workdesk Wednesday - click HERE to join in).  It is still morning here, just about.  My Psoriasis has flared up in the past few days, so had a quiet morning watching some tv and sorting out my Instagram accounts.  I try to keep Wednesdays as a more relaxed day, with housework etc, but there is still a fair amount to do each day.  I spread it out throughout the day, otherwise I just get too exhausted.

In my craft room today I am actually making a start on a 'Mixed Media Kit in a Bag' that I got from one of our local craft shops last summer.  She has not been able to hold the usual craft workshops, so the tutor kindly puts together project kits with full instructions.  This one is for a Notebook Box Set with Holder.  Just my sort of thing (I prefer craft projects that are useful).  I have grand plans of getting on with it, but the farm business is being particularly 'needy' with admin today - so got vehicle insurance to sort out first, once I have got this typed and published.

I got my first diamond painting project finished.  It was a freebie kit and not the best quality, but great experience for me - and will still look good up on my craft room wall.  (I am giving away a similar-sized kit, perfect for a beginner - read my blog post and comment to enter, or enter via Instagram @aliwadedesigns).

Apologies for not visiting any blogs last week - will be making a start later today, so I don't end up missing out a week again.

Lockdown is definitely not boring here!  I managed to escape out of the farm on Monday - just to go to the tip, but lovely to be out driving again.  We have a 'Fish Friday' once a fortnight, and go and get fish & chips from one of two fantastic local chippies, and of course driving anywhere in Pembrokeshire is a real treat.  I hope the weather is better this Friday - a fortnight ago we nearly got blown away going to the chippy in Porthgain!

Stay safe (anyone had a vaccination yet?).

Porthgain, ah what a lovely place, I look forward to seeing it again sometime soon, it is ages since we’ve been on a road trip! I’m glad you managed to get out for a bit, it’s good to know the world is still out there. I think this time is definitely harder than last year, my retired midwife friend has registered to be a vaccinator in Carmarthen and she says they;re getting through the lists of people quite quickly so hopefully it won’t be too long. Diamond art seems to have taken off recently, I bet doing it is quite relaxing. Hope your psoriasis flare dies down really quickly.

Hope you feel better soon. We used to farm for many years so know there is oodles of paperwork involved. Great that you were able to get out and about for a bit. Enjoy your kit! Thanks for popping by and have a wonderful week!

Love your diamond painting project. Having not been anywhere since March the tip sounds wonderful - I'd love a trip to our local one, everything it bagged up and hidden out of view behind the shed!
Have a good week and stay safe and well,

Ali, love your diamond painting! That cow is super cute! Hee Hee I've never done one or even seen one save on the internet!! Can't wait to see the outcome of the give away! I'm a sucker for drawings! LOLOL Enjoy your fish and chips! I've always wanted to go to an "authentic" fish and chips pub!! We don't have those here in the states. Closest thing is Captain D's and I wouldn't go there unless you want to spend the evening in the loo! LOL Happy eating! Stay safe and healthy! Felicia #27

Diamond painting seems to be all the rage at the moment, Ali! I understand it's quite addictive and fun to do. Nice picture. Sorry you are not feeling well and hope things settle down soon.

Thank you for your visit. Like you I am not a great fan of smoothies but the green juice seems to be OK (more dilute, lasts about 3 days so you're not getting all that pre-digested fruit sugar all at once) and the smoothie bowl was a lovely treat, only to be repeated as such! I am loving my Vitamix and still hoping the company will behave as they should regarding my old blender. I'm really enjoying doing the kitty throw and will soon have to decide whether to make up the blanket first and then add the appliqué, or the other way round, and more importantly, how on earth to keep it hidden from my hubby till it's finished, once I start adding kitties to it!! I hope your hubby enjoyed seeing our kitties. I just love that photo of Ruby! Contacting the hospital or dr's surgery takes as much effort as climbing Mt Everest these days and most of the time it's scarcely worth the trouble because you get absolutely nowhere. You can't get through on the phone either. I think a lot more people are going to be self-diagnosing and self-treating now because of all this. I think it will be years rather than months before I get my operation. The whole thing is quite appalling.

Happy WOYWW,

Thank you for your eariler visit! You could sell your old mags on ebay, some go for more than they did when new! Hey! I keep all mine and am missing some even though I subscribed, so let me know if you want to sell! We managed to go out too this week even though it was only for a hospital trip, then back home. You have to book an appointment at the tip here, but only one person can go. We haven't had fish n chips for ages, bought one...hubby usually cooks them, then moans that the fish was rubbish! Hope it's not too wet where you are, Happy WOYWW!? Stay Safe, Keep Crafting! ((Lyn)) #17

I have seen 3 lovely diamond paintings on WOYWW this week - what a lovely idea it is and I would imagine, relaxing to do - though I would certainly need my specs on. Yes you and a few others (LLJ) also wondered what I had been knitting this week!!!! Hope your flare up is a bit better today. xxx

My vaccine is next Monday - heard yesterday. In fact they rang and offered me one again today. Just not crossed me off the list I guess.
Have fun with your kit in a bag.

I like the idea of a kit in a bag and will look forward to seeing it when done. I think Diamond painting would be too fiddly for me, although a free one is tempting. Just to try it. I absolutely love fish and chips, although the one we had last week was not very nice. Old fashioned fish and chip shops are the best. My favourite is cod’s roe which seems to be area specific. Have a great week Angela #6

Would love to see the contents of your mixed media bag and also what you achieve from it. We are in municipal lockdown again but can go out and walk along the paseo. It is very quiet and we realise how many people from neighbouring towns now visit Mojacar during the day.
Looks like I wont be getting the vaccine until March that's when the over 70's qualify. I am just staying put in the home. Ani

Hi Ali, the diamond painting will, look great on your craft wall. Once I've redecorated my craft room, I intend to put somethings up on the wall. Have fun with the kit in the bag, and I hope you managed to get your fish and chips last night without being blown away! Have a lovely week, Heather xx #28

What a super treat to still get the mixed media kits in lieu of missed classes, I agree to useful stuff too.
Thanks for the visit BJ#13

Hi Ali, so sorry to hear about your psoriasis. Have you tried Childs Farm baby moisturiser for sensitive skin? Someone recommended it to my better half and it cleared it up altogether.
I agree about useful projects. I enjoyed painting but the paintings were of limited use. Crochet is very satisfying
Stay safe
